About

I am Janice L. Blake, jockey, author, speaker, equine consultant, and handicapper, here to serve you and our lovely horses.

Thank you for visiting. Please take a look around, sign-up for my newsletter, and send me a message if you have any questions or concerns.

I am a jockey currently riding on the New York circuit of Aqueduct, Belmont, and Saratoga.

Since junior high, I have been creating short stories and journal entries. More recently, I have written a book about race horses, available here, and other works which I also intend to publish, such as an instructional, beginner’s horse book series, a children’s book, a television pilot, and a screenplay.

My philosophy is that we are all here to help each other.

Books

I have written several books, most notably of which is How to Exercise a Thoroughbred Race Horse. This book tells the reader how to take a Thoroughbred race horse from the barn to the race track and back safely. A must read for rail birds of any experience. Filled with beautiful photographs by Barbara D. Livingston and a myriad of equine quotes from the ages.
